The 1967 Vox “Wah-Wah” electric guitar effects pedal by Jennings Musical Industries (JMI). A very rare and iconic pedal. This incredibly rare first-generation UK-made example, serial number 5879, is in excellent condition, 100% all original condition. Not sure if the vinyl carrying case is original however it appears to be older and it's in mint condition.
Inspired by the request of Del Casher, and brought to life by Vox engineer Dick Denney and Brad Plunkett, the wah-wah pedal has since become a thing of musical legend: the sounds of which have been showcased by the upper-ecshelon of guitar gods. This exact first generation prototypical variety was used by Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Frank Zappa, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, George Harrison, etc. It is estimated that a mere 100 total pre-Clyde McCoy grey wah-wah pedals were produced, with very few still in existence. A similar example (with several changed parts) was being advertised for $3,600.00, which is still not a bad price for a pedal like this!
While some concurrently produced volume pedals were re-appropriated for use as wahs, this is one of the extremely rare original grey UK wahs with the original strip perforated tagboard. All components within are original, and even the (4) original rubber glides are intact, however one of the rubber glides is striped.
